Courageous Conversations: The State of the Black Community!

September 22, 2020 | Written by

When Black women are at the forefront of local and national issues, systematic and generational change happens; this is nothing new! The Black woman has been activating this country by fighting first and fiercely for fairer and equitable opportunities for all. From the Boardroom to the Block, from Congress to the Community, women are speaking up and out on issues that are drastically impacting communities of color.
With the United States Presidential election months away and Covid-19 plaguing the black communities, the Psi Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, hosted an unapologetic courageous conversation about the state of the Black community.

Panelists:
Bithiah Carter: President & CEO of New England Blacks in Philanthropy
Michael Curry: Brockton’s Michael Curry is an accomplished attorney, civil rights leader, and healthcare advocate
Brandy Fluker Oakley: Member of the Psi Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated

Our moderator for this conversation is Courtney Leonard, Event Moderator & Founder of HerVision Media.
